During the day, do not miss a chance to hike and explore Wadi Rum! It’s like stepping on Mars (the movie The Martian was actually filmed here)! Once you arrive to the visitor center, there are tons of locals that you can purchase a Jeep tour from. This is truly the best way to see what Wadi Rum has to offer.

Camping in the Wadi Rum Desert with a 4x4 tour to various locations is a must. Some tour companies offer an early morning camel ride which is an amazing way to start your day. There are several tent accomodations available from staying inside a goat haired tent to glamping.

Wadi Rum is a popular desert location, also used in the film The Martian. This location in the film Rogue One Star Wars earned the Royal Film Commission – Jordan the Location Managers Guild Award for best Film Commission in 2017.

We booked a one day tour including a night in the desert with Mehedi Saleh and his Bedouin Directions. We liked everything and enjoyed the time in the desert, find details here. The next morning we took the taxi to the Israelian border.

Love love loveeee this area! I didn’t get a chance to glamp in the tents at night but you definitely should if you can. I did a day trip here with a driver and it was incredible!!
